Characteristics of Ozone Gas

Ozone (O₃) is a naturally occurring gas composed of three oxygen atoms. It exists in the stratosphere, where it forms the ozone layer that protects Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. However, ozone is also a highly reactive gas, and when it is present at ground level, it can pose serious health risks.

Ozone is often used in various industrial applications due to its strong oxidizing properties, which make it effective for disinfection, purification, and oxidative processes. It is widely used in industries like water treatment, food processing, air purification, and semiconductor manufacturing.
