ISO 14001 Environmental Management
ISO 14001 is a standard that is designed to help organisations deliver their obligations under the Environmental mandatory rules in the Australia, as stated on the Environmental Protection Act 1990. This standard connects well with ISO 9001 and other quality management standards. As appose than having an Environmental Management System (EMS), some organisations integrate it with their Quality Management System (QMS) in which we have done, and refer to it as an Integrated Management System (IMS). The purpose of this standard is to:
- Meet legal obligations
- Improve resource efficiency
- Reduce waste
- Reduce environmental impact
- Reduce risk
- Reduce costs.
